Once upon a time tumblr was my one and only place to share my art spasms and it felt glorious- I actually connected with other people whos work I love and occasionally still do. But over the last year I found it is so easy for my work to just disappear into the endless insanity of images that tumblr is, I didnt feel that anyone was actually watching or paying attention and it felt quite dis-heartening. So I have neglected really posting here and mostly do my sharing over on instagram as the Sundaysunking, where it feels easier to meet and talk to other artists, to comment on their work and get feedback on mine. Unless of course they have a billion followers then I guess its just as hard as here to make a connection! Anyways, Im gonna give tumblr another chance and still share on here for the few people who follow and maybe are a little interested in what I do. This one is called ‘Man Crowd’ and its from a few months ago when I decided to see what happens when I put shapes together rather than keep everything apart and also from whenI recently decided to re-introduce myself to the wonderful world of digital colours. My plan for this year was to leave rainy London, to head back home to melt in the sun of Cyprus, and actually finish the adventures of #coconoejoe …but it became clear after a few months that this was not to be. Though this was quite disappointing and it took me a while to accept it in my heart, the reason for leaving Cyprus was to take up an amazing opportunity to work as an art director for @tocaboca in Stockholm! I am super excited and feel very privileged to be working on something new and exciting for this awesome company with a team of super talented people full of equal excitement and love for what they do…i cant wait to see what we come up with and i look forward to sharing this next chapter with you guys here too. Coconoe Joe is not forgotten though( kinda hard to forget a part of yourself), and just like me he will be learning to adapt and survive a winter like he has never faced before! Wish us both luck!
